INTRODUCTION
 

God has blessed us to be able to ship out more than 115,000 videos around the globe since 1988.  We invite you to compare our soundness of teaching, quality of production, and price to anything in the brotherhood.

DVDs are now available. (See the following section for more details)

CDs are now offered on selected courses.  Now you can study the Bible while you drive, walk, or even clean the house.  The lessons are taken directly from the video masters and each CD contains two 38 minute lessons (for most courses).  If CDs are available, they will be indicated in the course description.

All videos are individually labeled and shipped in plastic cases.  Most courses consist of lessons which are normally 38 minutes each.  Usually, VHS videotapes have 3 lessons (some courses vary).  WVBS videotapes, DVDs, audiotapes and notebooks are all copyrighted.

DVDS
 

WVBS is now offering many of our courses and subjects on DVD.  This is an on going project and additional courses will be added weekly.

Important note:  WVBS DVDs are DVD-Rs and because of this you need to be aware that some older model DVD players will not play DVD-Rs.  Most  units sold in the last few years will play DVD-Rs.  If you order DVDs and they will not work in your player you may return them for immediate refund (please let us know the reason for the return).  If you are intending to purchase a new DVD player to view WVBS DVDs you may wish to make sure it will play DVD-Rs.

What is a DVD? (Digital Versatile Disc)

A DVD is the same size as a CD but will hold seven times more material.

How do DVDs compare to videotape?

1. The quality of video is superior.
2. They are very reliable and more durable.
3. They are more flexible in features.  For example, you can go directly to each class without fussing with fast forward or rewind.

How much video will be on a DVD-R?

A DVD holds 4.7 GB of data, or two hours worth of video on a single side.  There are also two-sided DVDs which will hold two hours on each side.

How long should DVDs last compared to video?

Videotapes are estimated to  last 10 – 20 years while DVDs are estimated to last 40 – 250 years.

Will DVDs play in a CD player?

No, but your CDs will play on most DVD players.

What equipment will I need to play WVBS DVDs?

WVBS will produce DVD-Rs, a specific type of DVD.  Most DVD players manufactured in the last few years will play DVD-Rs, but because some of the older models do not, you should check your DVD player manual to verify compatibility.

In addition, our DVDs will play on computers with a DVD-ROM drive and many of the popular video game players such as PlayStation 2, X-Box etc., but you might have to wrestle with the kids for viewing time!

For users outside the US:

WVBS will not be making DVDs in PAL, only in NTSC.  To view our DVDs you will need to have a multi-standard DVD player that will play both PAL and NTSC on DVD-R.  You will not need a multi-region player.  If you are considering purchasing a DVD player and are not sure what to get WVBS can send a DVD in order that you might test it in the DVD player before purchasing.

The following payment options are available.

• Money orders, cashier's checks, personal or church checks in U.S. dollars payable to: World Video Bible School®.
• VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, and AMERICAN EXPRESS users include type of card, card number, and expiration date.

Churches and schools: Purchase requests from churches and schools are welcome. Payment is due on receipt of invoice.

Individuals: We must receive payment by check, money order or credit card in U.S. dollars before we ship the order unless other arrangements have been made in advance.  VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER and AMERICAN EXPRESS are welcome.  If mailing your order, be sure to include type of card, card number, expiration date and signature.

Shipping Options: Most courses have several DVDs or tapes and these can be ordered on a delayed basis.  Each shipment will be invoiced separately and payment is due on receipt of invoice.  Possibilities include receiving one tape or two DVDs per week, one tape or two DVDs every two weeks, one tape or DVD per month, etc.  Simply let us know what schedule is suitable and a "standing order" can be arranged.  Payment may be made in installments if such an arrangement has been made by contacting WVBS.

Orders within the United States will be sent by library rate mail, unless expedited shipping is requested and paid by the customer.  Orders outside the United States will be sent by surface mail, unless airmail is requested and the additional cost paid by the customer.  Packages sent overseas via surface mail can take 2-6 months to arrive.

If you order tapes to carry on a trip overseas, please place the order as far in advance as possible.  Due to the volume of orders, some tapes are produced after the order is received, which can add a delay.  Also, there may be other orders ahead of yours.  Last minute or rush orders will be handled as timely as circumstances permit.  Remember... the earlier your order, the better your chances to get the tapes in time for your trip.

Study notes are available for many courses.  All notes are bound in plastic combs and listed as notebooks within each applicable course description, along with the price.  Tests and answers are available separately on a limited basis (see below).  All of the notebook and book prices include shipping and handling.

Also, certain courses have additional textbooks available (with or without the videos).  Book prices vary and are indicated where applicable.

All WVBS notebooks are copyright World Video Bible School®.  However, permission is granted to all customers to make and distribute copies of WVBS notebooks as needed, provided copies are not produced for resale and provided that proper credit is given.  Permission to reproduce notebooks applies only to notebooks having a World Video Bible School® cover on them.

For most courses that have accompanying notebooks, tests and answers are also available.  Generally, these tests and answers are available only to preacher training or Bible schools.  If you need tests, please contact us for further information.

You've heard of our Course Notes on CD-ROM offer but maybe you just want a few of the notes.  We are now offering the same course notes found on the CD as individual files that you can receive as an attachment through email.

The courses are in the Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.  The program necessary to read these files is free and instructions on where to download it will be included in the email containing the notes.  With the Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can view the notes on your computer and print them out if you desire a hardcopy.

The cost of the course notes in email can be found with each video series in the catalog, but is generally half off the price of the printed and bound version of the notes.

Payment for the course notes in email must be received before the notes will be emailed.

Videotapes may no longer be rented, however DVDs are available and may be rented by churches or individuals (in the U.S. only) for $5.00 per DVD which includes shipping both ways.  When you rent DVDs, be sure to keep the cardboard box it arrives in.  When it is time to return the DVDs, simply turn the cardboard box inside out, put the DVDs inside, tape up the box and drop it in the mail.  Return postage and the return address are already fixed on the inside of the box, making rental returns extremely simple.

Payment is required before the DVDs are shipped.  The rental time is for 30 days (if longer is needed, please contact us and request an extension).  DVDs can only be rented in multiples of two (DVDs come two in a box) except for courses with 1 DVD or an odd number of DVDs (then the last one has its own box).  New customers may not rent more than four videos at one time.  Notebooks and books must be purchased... not rented.

We offer a correspondence school called the Video Bible Institute (VBI) for the student who wants a focused, organized, detailed plan of study and who is willing to complete all course assignments.  This includes memory work, term papers, and written tests which are sent to VBI for grading.  As a student, you can take as many or as few courses as you choose.  A special certificate will be issued for each course successfully passed.

There is no special educational background required to enroll in the Video Bible Institute.  All you need is the desire to know God's Word better and the determination to complete the courses.  People from all walks of life are currently enrolled - from preachers to law-enforcement officers to housewives - why don't you join these sincere seekers and increase your knowledge of God's word?

There is also a special program for those men who wish to train to be preachers. The order in which courses are to be taken is prescribed and is designed around a Preacher Training School curriculum.  A certificate of completion will be issued upon successful completion of each course, and when all required courses are successfully completed a certificate of graduation is awarded.
