At VBI, we believe the truth has nothing of which to be ashamed--and neither do those who stand for it. We believe the Bible is the all sufficient, verbally and plenary inspired word of God (2 Tim 3:16, 17). Everything it contains is true (Heb 6:18). Today everyone everywhere is amenable to the New Testament of Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, Who built one church and bought it with His own blood (Acts 17:30; 20:28). God adds people to His church when, after faith, repentance, and confession are immersed in water for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 2:38, 47). We cannot be saved without God's grace, but He will not save without our obedience (Heb 5:9). Eternity rushes swiftly on each of us and where we spend it will be determined by what we do with the gospel now (2 Thess 1:6-10).

By definition, the Lord's church is not a denomination, nor can it be in spiritual fellowship with any denomination. The church of Christ is not unique just for the sake of being different. Rather, the denominations are different because they do not strictly follow the divine pattern presented in the New Testament for worship and daily life. We believe the gospel is a timeless message for men lost in sin, and never needs to be changed or updated. We invite all in the denominations to abandon all their man-made traditions, creeds, peculiar doctrines and practices and embark on a revolutionary journey all the way back to the Bible. Let us speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. Let us do Bible things in Bible ways. If we follow the New Testament we cannot be wrong. If we stray from the New Testament we cannot be right.
